Chief Joseph Dam Asbestos Abatement Clearance Air Sampling │$30,000│

Project Description: NetCompliance Environmental Services, LLC (NCES) has been contracted by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Seattle District (USACE) under Task Order (TO) 0005 to conduct a final visual assessment and air sampling following removal of presumed asbestos-containing material from turbines at Chief Joseph Dam in partial preparation for installation turbine replacement equipment by others.  Specifically, USACE personal will be removing packing or gasket material and cleaning to remove brake dust from surfaces in the air housing of the various generator units to be renovated.

The following work activities have been identified for this project:

  • Final Visual Assessment
  • Airborne Fiber Air Sampling

At a minimum, each work activity requires the completion of an Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) and submittal to the project manager for approval prior to starting the activity.  The approved AHA will remain accessible on the project site for viewing by all site personnel and will be included as part of training during the phases of work.
